OnePlus 3T will be made in Andhra Pradesh by Foxxcon
Chinese phone maker OnePlus is going to start manufacturing its latest flagship model 3T in India from early 2017 onwards. According to the source, the One Plus 3T is made in collaboration with Foxconn which has a manufacturing facility in Andhra Pradesh since October 2015.
OnePlus has been disrupting the smartphone market since day 1 with its ‘one’ model. With the constant smartphone rollouts, this enabled the company to be the third largest premium smartphone >$300 seller just behind Samsung and Oppo, another Chinese-based company. According to the company, a third of its sales originate from India and received 200,000 registration for its 3T handsets which are priced at Rs. 29,99/- (US $442) via Amazon. The OnePlus 3T can be purchased from the following links:
- 16MP primary camera (f/2.0 Aperture, 1.12 µm Pixel size) with high speed autofocus technology (PDAF), updated Electronic (EIS) and Optical (OIS) stabilization technologies protected by a more durable sapphire glass with a 16 MP front camera (f/2.0 Aperture, 1.0 µm Pixel size) capable of capturing improved low-light selfies and videos.
- 13.97 centimeters (5.5-inch) Optic AMOLED Full HD capacitive touchscreen with 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution and 401 PPI pixel density.
- OxygenOS based on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow with Qualcomm® SnapdragonTM 821 MSM8996 Pro (2.35 GHz) quad core processor; Adreno 530 GPU 6GB LPDDR4 RAM, 64GB internal memory (UFS 2.0 Flash Storage), dual nano-SIM dual-standby (4G+4G).
- 3,400 mAh lithium-polymer battery (non-removable) powered by state-of-the-art Dash Charge (5V 4A) technology; NFC enabled, Bluetooth 4.2and reversible type-C connector.
The business relation between OnePlus and Foxconn is not new as it manufactured its mid-end X series phone until early this year.
As of now OnePlus does not have any plans to sell via retail outlets and only on Amazon. OnePlus does plan on having an experience center at Bangalore for people to interact and test the device before placing an online order. However, anything can change. Recently two stores in Irla, Andheri West Mumbai have been officially selling Xiaomi Mi Redmi and Motorola phones.
As of now, OnePlus has seven service centers and provides service via sixty third-party service outlets. The company plans to add six more exclusive service centers.
