Leaks happen regularly but the ones that usually given a serious look at when it from retail stores or from the company executives. Very recently, OnePlus CEO Pete Lau (Lie Zuohu) made a bit of a stir in his account on Weibo where his X marked running routine can be seen. One assumed that this is possible his way of teasing One Plus X smartphone.
The assumption was right in some way since the company’s co-founder Carl Perl confirmed a new phone is coming soon.
The company launched OnePlus 2 a few months ago and will be launching a new one in few months time. There are a couple of speculation. It is also speculated that the upcoming phone will be called OnePlus Mini. If info leaking mills are to be believed, it would be a 5″ display size smartphone with mid-end specs, 1080 x 1920 resolution, expandable storage, NFC, Quick Charge 2.0 and maybe even some resistance to water. It would up with 441 ppi, a 64-bit Octa-core and 700MHz PowerVR G6200 GPU based MediaTek MT6795 SoC and 2GB LPDDR4 RAM.
However, there is another rumour that OnePlus X would have a Snapdragon 801 with a 5″ display, citing ‘credible factory sources’.
The company sent invitations for an event on October 12th. Although many believed this may have more information about OnePlus X (or mini), or it could also be accompanied with an official announcement for its manufacturing unit in India.
Whatever the phone is called, as long as it comes with a good enough specs and support for the price, it’s all good! All we can do now is wait for October 12th!!
