L.A. Noire The VR Case files won’t work on AMD CPU and GPU powered PCs

Rockstar Games haven’t any explanation about the incompatibility problem

As AAA devs are redesigning its existing PC games for VR, Rockstar Games’ L.A. Noire: The VR Case Files managed to get into a controversy of able to run on a PC powered by AMD CPU and AMD Radeon graphics. What it means that while you can run this on an Intel/AMD CPU+ Nvidia GPU and Intel CPU+ AMD Radeon graphics card, you cannot do so with the AMD CPU and AMD Graphics card at all.

Just Rockstar games having VR issues???

The reasoning behind such a move is not given, nor its something Rockstar Games will fix. But one would speculate based Nvidia’s branding for the game implies unfair advantage against Radeon card owners. Bethesda’s Fallout 4 VR is redesigned for VR gameplay with no such problems.

Additionally, Rockstar Games say that the game will work with systems only a single graphics cards- Nvidia or AMD Radeon.

The following was mentioned on its page:

Additional System Specifications

Due to current performance issues with AMD hardware, only specific combinations of AMD and NVIDIA/Intel Hardware will allow the game to play as intended:
• If using an AMD Ryzen 7 CPU, an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 (or above) graphics card is required to play
• If using an AMD Vega 56 graphics card, an Intel i7 6700 (or above) CPU is required to play
• Attempting to use an AMD CPU and GPU together to play the game is not supported at this time

L.A. Noire: The VR Case Files only supports a single graphics card architecture; NVIDIA SLI and AMD CrossFire features are not supported.

Chance for a fix??

On the other hand, there might be a chance that Rockstar Games may work on it, as they’ve mentioned the following:

Over time programming changes will change the system requirements for this game. Please refer to your hardware manufacturer and www.rockstargames.com/support for current compatibility information. Some system components such as mobile chipsets, integrated, and AGP graphics cards may be incompatible. Unlisted specifications may not be supported by publisher.
